Let's see how well I can go back and recap everything. I received in the post Tuesday evening: Dead or Alive: Dimensions for the 3DS. Wednesday was the last day with any students. The second day of final exams. For the most part it went okay. Remember the busted pencil sharpener from my last post? Well, its condition was such that the plastic case was split, but still covering it. Kids found it and decided to take it off and remove the innards. One kid found it (this is after this class was finished with exams and kids were a little on the crazy side) and announced he could fix it. Of course he didn't listen to me telling him to put it down. Next thing I know there's a huge electric flash and pop. I didn't even know it was plugged in. No one was hurt, but jesus. Things went alright while the students were taking the exam. Once again I came down hard and just threw kids out who were acting up in the beginning. My last two classes were especially nice. Second to last class is often the worst, after kicking out three kids it was fucking hear fabric rustle silent. At the very very end the kids did get crazy. The whole of the freshmen hall. Screaming and all that. I got off pretty easy and all that happened was the recycle bin was thrown across the room. Another teacher was hit with a thrown textbook and sat down on a chair covered in lotion. In the evening, in the post: The Dana Carvey Show on dvd.

Then began a stretch of days lacking in sleep. Thursday was the administrative day and I knew it would be busy but it was much more horrible than I'd imagined. Of course, the first few hours of the morning the internet was down (which was needed for grades and junk). I have to do paperwork on failing students and all that. Well, it turns out I'd been calculating the "plus" classes wrong. The first semester is not counted at all. It didn't change the numbers much but it did shuffle around a little who would be failing so that was a little pain, then the system wasn't loading grades right and I had to enter stuff manually and that was a huge pain. Anyway trying to take care of all this stuff, I didn't even get what I had to done and had to leave when they kicked everyone out of the building at 5. I did get grades all entered from home and woke up early and went by the school to drop off that information. Then we had our in service thingie at the university. After lunch they had an awards ceremony: teacher of the year for each department and stuff like that as well as other recognitions. Mr. Booth got an award and he made a little speech and he thanked and recognized me and had me stand (this wasn't part of the ceremony, this was his own personal thing) an then two other teachers. Anyway, I thought it was a bit touching he wanted to recognize me in some way. Afterwards I went back up to the school to wrap everything up and get my stuff out of there (there really wasn't even much of that).

After work and all I went over to Josh and Molly's to meet up before the Zoo Brew. I ended up going because Josh got really sick and couldn't use his ticket and Mary Beth was going anyway so it was for free and I could hang out or something. Of course, it wasn't for me. A super-crowded beer tasting. Also I was dead tired throughout most of it. Yesterday Mary Beth went on a little Mexican tour. We checked out Tacos Borolas which had excellent tacos and after that we went to La Michoacana for paletas (Mexican popcicles) and it was awesome as hell. I had pistachio and watermelon (Mary Beth had mango+chili and pine nut). In the evening we went to someone we don't know's apartment for this joint birthday thing that included Emily and someone we don't know. There were a lot of people I don't know there and I was tired so mostly just sat down and was quiet. There was a whole lotta pot smokin' in the other room and every now and then the stench made its way over. Well, it's fucking summer! I should do something summery. Uh...
