yesterday ended our stint of housesitting...Mary Beth and i ended up going to the $2 theater with Jacques and Amber and saw The Fouth Kind i think it's called...it was terrible...and there was this mildly crazy lady sitting behind us who kept talking through the whole thing...asking us questions, expressing her own astonishment at the characters' actions...she apparently has a friend who was abducted by aliens as well...afterwards we went and had korean and i had the tongue bulgogi and it was fucking delicious! we did some christmas exchanging and we helped them set up their bookshelf and took the remainder of the tape down from the wall/ceiling left over from painting months ago...very christmassy...anyway, i got sweet stuff!: The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks for the DS and The Dalkey Archive by Flann O'Brien...so, uh, awesomeness! then we ate at huey's which was fortuitous because we found out this friday is Tony's last shift as a waiter there! he's going into management and night school, etc...good for him, a little sad for us as he's such an awesome waiter...i think the only waiter i've ever been able to refer to by their name! so we've gotta go back friday for one last go (and uh, nachos or cheese fries or hamburgers or whatever...) we finished the evening with my first four player wii experience on New Super Mario Bros. (sadly not on my own console, where i've had four controllers that have not been used all at once for some time...) today at work i finished reading The Year of the Hare by Arto Paasilinna...it wasn't very good...the writing wasn't very good at all, i'm wondering how much of this has to do with the fault of the translator, but as i don't speak finnish i'll never know...it had a few moments where the humor was actually a bit funny, but most of it wasn't...i don't know, i just didn't find it to be that good...anyway, that's about it...
