finished reading The Original of Laura by Vladimir Nabokov today...alright...pretty good for what it is...i mean, you have to go into it knowing what to expect...it's very incomplete...a few fragments without much of the story seeping through...of interest only so far as there is interest in Nabokov himself, of course, that's what brings people to it in the first place...it's not a novel but a document...and the bits that are there are good, too bad all the bits never got written down...and i should say the printing is amazing...it has facsimilies of every index card (front and back) Nabokov wrote on, one a page, with its text printed below...it definitely doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is, and making for a beautiful, captivating edition as well...tomorrow is gonna suck...i have to go to work early as balls...too fucking early...the center is opening two hours earlier than usual and i'm randomly stuck on this shit shift...and as i worked the late shift today and have to go in so fucking early i'm not gonna get any sleep tonight...balls...
