Mary Beth's was last friday and mine was last saturday...she had gathered a bunch of friends for dinner at India Palace friday night: Paul, Shawna, David, Phoebe, Dustin, Josh, Molly, Jacques, Amber, Paul, and Katie...ooh and i got presents! from Paul and Shawna; a big bag of goodies including one of those sweet toy guitars where you push buttons and it plays a cheesy cock lick also somehow you can put mp3s on it but i haven't figured out how or why that works; from Jacques and Amber: Sharpling and Wurster: Chain Fights, Beer Busts and Service with a Grin, White Noise: An Electric Storm, Sharpling and Wurster: New Hope for the Ape-Eared, and Harmonograph: a Visual Guide to the Mathematics of Music by Anthony Ashton; from David and Phoebe: And the Ass Saw the Angel by Nick Cave, and Sun Ra: Strange Strings; from Josh and Molly: Super Paper Mario fro the Wii...it was a pretty sweet evening...nothing really happened after dinner...the next day i went to my parents' and they took Mary Beth and i out for dinner...they got me a target gift card which i mostly blew yesterday, more on that excitement later...afterwards i met Paul and Shawan for karaoke at yosemite sam's...i hadn't karaoked in a while...i sang "Piano Man" which i think was quite successful and then "Don't Cry for Me Argentina"...anyway, Mary Beth got me the most awesomest present ever!: a cumbus...a turkish stringed instrument that's something like a much more resonant banjo...it has 3 sets of 2 strings...its "gourd" is a metal pot and it has a drum head like a banjo...it's really awesome, very similar to a bouzouki a greek instrument i've been obsessed with lately...but it's super-awesome and i've been rocking it a bunch...is that all for our birthdays? gosh, that was a WEEK ago how can i remember anything more?
