so yesterday i woke up and my windshield was all fixed and everything (at least so the work order would have me believe)...which was sweet as i didn't have to do anything other than be on the phone with my insurance company for less than ten minutes the night before and leave a key for the people to find...at work i finished reading Ficciones by Jorge Luis Borges...for a while i had put off reading it 'cuz i planned on reading it in spanish first...i did at one point make it through the short prologue and a couple paragraphs into the first story, but my spanish was nowhere near par...(i thought i'd be a good way to "get back into it" or something...) so i cracked and read it rather than keep myself from it completely...good thing too, 'cuz it's some damned fine stuff, i say...and then last night was some more trivia...third place! and that was after a comeback of being dead last in the first round...also i'm morbidly impressed that my memory was able to cull up the name of DJ's best friend on Full House (Kimmy)...and i got some presents from Phoebe: Ennio Morricone: Come Imparai ad Amare le Donne soundtrack and The Confusion by Neal Stephenson...afterwards i hung out with Justin a bit...then checking out at the grocery store, i was wearing my Kafka shirt, the lady checking me out asked where i got it and then there was a brief discussion about him...(well, "discussion" is probably a bit strong of a word, but anyway...) it was unexpected and a bit neat...and then still later Mary Beth gave me a random present!: The Year of the Death of Ricardo Reis by José Saramago...not too much about today's workday...i was stuck semi-guruing for a little bit...but it was for someone that's been on leave for a year and wasn't in training so i didn't have to fill out any of the forms or nothing, just sit there and help when needed, etc...so it wasn't that bad...and the end or something...
