dead amplifier
Jun. 26th, 2005 10:17 amfriday was pretty lame...well, first i did something cool...i dug up that old peavy amp that hancock left at my house years and years ago that seemed like sometimes it'd work and sometimes it wouldn't...so i decided to finally use it as a secondary amp with different effects going out to it while still using my main amp and it was working so that was cool...but then a little later i was just playing around on my amp...actually playing clean too...and then my amp exploded...okay, "exploded" is a bit over-dramatic, but it broked...just suddenly the sound faded out so i assumed at first the batteries in one of my pedals died...so i was checking out my pedals when i noticed the light on the amp wasn't on...so i figured maybe the power cord came loose or whatever...when i noticed the room was suddenly filled with the stench of electrical burning...that was completely lame...but then later i opened up the pearl syncussion drum synth and got it working...i didn't really do much of anything...i'm thinking it just needed the cards reset...what had been wrong was only one of the two synths (it's like two of the same synth in one box...so you have two "drums") was working and the other didn't no nothin'...but after i put it back together it works perfectly...well that's nice...other than that i just sat around and didn't do shit friday...yesterday i went to radio shack to get a new fuse for my amp...but it just blows those fuses instantaneously...so i guess the amp's fucked...Josh tells me that it's probably the transformer and those are usually easy and inexpensive to replace...i hope so...at least now i have that peavy as a backup...sure it's a crappy peavy amp its previous owner didn't even care enough about to think about not just leaving it behind at someone else's house...but currently it works and that's something...then later on yesterday i went over to Josh/Molly's...didn't really do much just hung out...Dustin and Shefalika too...ate vietnamese, looked at the pictures from the honeymoon in Prague...then i woke up pretty early so i could get the yardwork done in decent time so the band could practice early, but when i called my grandmother she said my dad mowed the grass yesterday...uh...okay...so i'm not doing that today...well i guess we can practice whenever...
