the most amazing show EVER!!! (Sonic Youth: Last Place on Earth)

i just posted about this to the newsgroup (alt.music.sonic-youth) but here i go again...where the hell do i start...David and Justin have already posted about this a bit, but here's mine: Thurston/Jim/Steve/Lee doing "Psychic Hearts"...WOW! Lee was bowing the guitar and playing some extremely cool stuff that added so much to the song...Thurston did 2 songs or so w/ just a 12-string guitar...really cool...Eddie Vedder/Jim/Steve/Lee started on some music to a film by Leah Singer...it was really good...Eddie Vedder was amazing playing cool stuff...he started off doing this really nifty strumming part then started doing REALLY cool stuff w/ an ebow...(mayhaps he should quit Pearl Jam and start a band where he plays guitar and doesn't sing...) i didn't recognize him at first either...he had a beard and the band just referred to him as "Ed"...the first part of this, Lee read some poetry stuff...it was cool...next Jim did some solo stuff that was really good...Jim/Steve/Kim followed w/ a noisy rock song thing that was amazing...brief intermission followed by: the godhead of an amazing full-on Sonic Youth set...i'll try to just touch the highlights here...(this is already getting really long as it is...) oh yea, it was EXCRUCIATINGLY hot tonight...Thurston compared it to Africa twice...oh fuck, i forgot to mention that we got there around 6 and were the first ppl to form a line (we also go interviewed by the ppl making the Summer of Youth film about SY fans...) okay, back to the show: first song was "Tom Violence" introduced by Thurston: "this song's dedicated to DJ Tom Violence, it's called Tom Violence"...they added a 3rd verse/chorus to "Bull in the Heather" it was really cool...there were 2 encores, which was extremely cool...it's amazing how well they kept going in such extreme heat...it was just an amazing show...Eddie Vedder also played w/ the band on "Lightnin'"...i brought the video camera and was able to tape the WHOLE THING! nothing got cut off...i'm so pleased...i brought my microphone and Justin held the mic for me (thank you so much, kind sir!) i'm really anxious to see how it all turned out...NOW! the most important part of it all: durring "Kool Thing" Kim fucking attacked my camera! it was so great! she got all up in it and hit it! and for a split second i was even able to badly scream the words into her microphone...wow! AHHHHH!!! okay...and i get to see 'em again tomorrow!!! although it can't be anywhere as great as the show tonight...since it's back to opening for Pearl Jam...oh yea, Steve's REALLY thin again...and ummm...that seems to be all i can remember for now...
