stuff without sleep...

tuesday was an all-nighter...i was up 'til past 4 am writing a story...i could be biased but i think it's the best thing i've ever written (not that i've written anything near a lot...) it's called "Story"...i may post it here at some point...it was written for this contest in Zoetrope...i had originally intended upon finishing this other story i'd started like a year ago but after i started writing i ran into some problems and decided to start anew...so tuesday was just about the last minute for the deadline (it has to be postmarked by tomorrow), i came up with the idea then started writing and continued on in the morning...i even typed it up before bed...if it's as good as i think it is then it should win! ha! (the winners and all that get announced december 1st, that's gonna be a long two damned months...) anyway, obviously i was real fucking tired yesterday...after work The Family Ghost pracitced...well, somewhat recording but it was more like a practice...we worked on "Like Clockwork" again...with less success than last time...but then we worked on "The Longest Day of the Year"...didn't really come off with a real recording of it, but it was actually real good practice and the song's been getting smoothed out quite a lot...i think Josh had really only played it though with us like once or twice before anyway...then later i got the story (as well as another story i wrote long ago and posted in here long ago called "Acceptance") packaged and ready to send, which i did this morning on the way to work...yesterday i also got some more of the crap that's been making me broke...

dvds...i was a little late in getting to bed last night too, of course not as bad...i got like 7 hours of sleep...so i was tired again today, but today was sort-of sweet...there was some technical problem or some crap and there was a long while when a bunch of us weren't getting any calls at all...a few times they'd reboot the computer and i'd get a call or two but then it'd be back to nothing again for a while...through all this i probably got a total of somewhere around a solid hour of reading done...so that was awesome...the other day i got a coupon in the mail for a free two-topping pizza ("I don't belive your recent experience with us met my standards.") so i've got a free pizza on its way to me...that's awesome...eating for free is especially nice when you're out of money...(well, technically i'm not OUT of money...but rent's due right now and i have to mail the check so that counts...) ooh...just as i typed that my pizza arrived...it's splitzville!

i'm sure i'll post it in the near future...i feel sort of weird about it that there's a remote possibility it could be published in the future...i guess anyone reading it makes me feel more "on the spot" than usual...or i'm just half out of it from lack of sleep...i'm sure vanity will lead me to post it on here within the week...
