oldies oldies
Sep. 18th, 2004 11:13 amthursday night i finished reading The Man in the High Castle by Philip K. Dick...yesterday i got my fucking schedule as starting october 10th...i didn't even get what i "wanted" (my first choice even being something crappy as they are deleting my current schedule, as you may remember...) my new schedule will be
7:30am-4pm
!!! fucking bullshit!!! in less than a month my bedtime will be fucking 10:30...so, naturally i'm pretty fucking pissed off in general...
after work was Elvis Costello...Jacques, Amber, and Justin were already in line holding me a space (as i get out of work much later...THAT'LL change soon enough...bah...) we were like the second group in line so that was alright...then we finally pack into the Hi-Tone...all them other dudes got to see him a few months ago (which i was not able to make) and they said it was a lot better then (even though there was even some complaint that that show wasn't even that great...) but yeah, last night's show definitely wasn't that great...it was alright..even if just for the novelty of being able to say i saw Elvis Costello...he only did two songs that i was really excited to hear ("Radio Radio" of course and "Uncomplicated")...it wasn't bad by any means, but watching it just made me feel like an old person or something...aside from new stuff he did a good bit from My Aim Is True, though i don't really care for that album very much at all...there are a couple songs off it i like a lot ("Watching the Detectives," "Welcome to the Working Week"...of course he didn't do those...) they were filming it for some movie...we were right in the front so we'll probably be on some upcoming, medicore Elvis Costello dvd...i'll probably get it just to say, hey there's me! they did give away free shirts after the show...long sleeve...i got one but i'll probably never wear it...it's red and on the front it just says "ELVIS" so if i worse it people would think i'm some asshole that likes Elvis Presley...fuck that shit...on the back it says the name of his new album really small...oh well, i'm sure once or twice in my lifetime i'll be able to get away with wearing such a shirt...
afterwards i made a quick stop by my apartment to pick up Paul's birthday present (as his birthday shindig was last night as well...) i found i had some mail!!! woo...
The Infesticons: Gun Hill Road
Miles Davis: On the Corner
then back to Jacques/Amber's...the four of us dudes went to Huey's then to Paul/Katie's for the aforementioned birthday party...that was swell...and i guess that brings me up to date for now...well, uh, rock on or something...
