i got my "new" bass yesterday...it's a rockin' oldcore Silvertone...i've mentioned before how cool it looks/sounds/plays/whatnot...so i'll just say that now i have it...after that i went to The Apartment and Jacques and i went to go eat...we weren't sure where we wanted to go so we did the usual driving around aimlessly...and it sort've actually worked...for some reason i was in a mood for southern food (mashed potatos, fried okra, roast beef...) i suggested Barnhill's Country Buffet 'cuz it was the only thing i could think of...but we didn't know where one was, but then we accidentally ran across it driving, but it was too expensive for our tastes at the moment...then driving back towards the Sub Shop, we drove past the Audobon Cafe and Jacques suggested that...so we went there...and of their food selection, i was able to get mashed potatos, fried okra, and roast beef (plus bonus rolls...) and it was quite the tasty food...i was pleased or something...back to The Apartment where Brian showed up...then Jenna and her husban Deric showed up...we were supposed to meet some ppl at the abhorrent Cafe Apocalypse but they weren't there...Deric felt like going to sleep so he was dropped off and we went to the P&H Cafe...after a short while i left to go home to sleep...i slept...went to work...i decided to sell my Elliot Smith: XO and Firewater: The Ponzi Scheme cds...CD Warehouse took the Elliot Smith and there i got the Macha Loved Bedhead cd...Lastchance took the Firewater cd for $2.50 ($.50 less than i paid...) and i got His Name Is Alive: Mouth by Mouth...and television went back to its shitty ways of not showing Futurama in lieu of fucking football...bah...but i was able to get my wonderful Simpsons...now here i am...must very soon get to studying for my calculus and spanish exams in the morning...bah...8 am...that means i have to wake up 6something...bah...

i liked their first album alright, but i thought The Ponzi Scheme was pretty bland...

well you're about to put your thumbs right back down 'cuz i'm strongly considering going back and selling it right after The Simpsons...i remember hearing another His Name Is Alive album and disliking it, but then i recall having heard bits of this one and liking it...and i like bits of it, but on the whole i found it to be very disappointing and the bad outweighing the good...there's some interesting stuff happening in parts, but even that seems contrived w/in the context of the (as i feel) horribly mediocre songs...one thing he should do is fucking sing himself...he sang on the Thurston Moore Roots thing and his voice is all cool (wussy and bad) but he just has to go off and let Tiffany sing or whatever...i dunno...

as for XO, i like Elliot Smith when he sounds like Elliot Smith, not when he sounds like the fucking Beatles...

and Jacques is alright...still just doing the normal Jacques stuff...and stuff...
