what nerds do...(post in an online journal?)

Amanda had another paper to write so she came over last night to write it...Jason came over too...while she was all doing school bullshit we dusted off my NES and had a totally AWESOME time!!! today at work i had THE BEST CALL EVER!!! i'm so tired i don't even know if i can come up with the words to describe its glory...but basically it comes down to a conversation between online gamers...i guess the guy was calling this girl (an online gaming friend) through relay 'cuz he's too cheap to pay long distance ('cuz being an online gaming nerd he wouldn't have any friends to call locally...and he's all internet savy so he'd know all about ip-relay...) but they had some sort of spat and were trying to somewhat work out their differences...i got a little insight into the online gamer's lingo...a bit of it had to do with the fact that they hadn't "grouped" in a long time...there was talk about leveling their characters...talk about how one wished they could see a certain character of their as a certain character of their own (a faint implication of their characters' interactions more important than their own...) they last time they grouped was when they went to [insert name of fantastical fantasy land]...all the characters they mentioned had funny names...and occupations such as cleric, silver knight, (god, there were ones much funnier but i'm forgetting!!! you know, standard role playing shit...paladins or wizards or trolls or goblins or orks or whatever...i don't think any of those words were used, but you know, shit like that...) i did a good bit of laughing (on mute of course)...there were a few things that surprised me i was able to actually say aloud...they weren't in a relationship or anything...they talked a lot of the boundaries or whatever and friendship...though he did get jealous when he'd see other guys passing her flattery in the chat room or whatever...OOH!!! they talked a lot about guilds...she was upset 'cuz he didn't get along with anyone from her guild (her guildies)...he also was worried he might have to join a new guild soon...later today he'd have to have a talk scheduled with the guildmaster (or whatever he's called) about complaints that were put in against him...for shame!!! and the whole time they were talking funny, like online gamers do...the aforementioned acts that inspired jealousy were referred to her as "emotes" and uh...i can't think of anything else...she also wondered what they'd do if they ever grouped...sitting around and talking's fine, but last time they did that she had to just sit there and watch as the kei she spent 4 PLATINUM on rotted away before her eyes!!! he was sorry...he gets caught up and forget about stuff like that dealing with [insert funny names of characters here] since they don't need kei for sustinance...but anyway, they decided they're still "cool" (the funniest line of all was when she said something about her characters and i think the levels they had attained, one was like 49 and then like some other one, a wizard or some shit was like 47, damn that's baddd!!!...uh, and his reply was "that's cool" then immediately followed by something like "so, are we still cool?"), but they might need some time apart to let things settle...i wish i could remember the whole thing verbatim...if i could have transcribed one call of my entire time working there it would have been that one...but anyway, don't say shit about the irony of me making fun of them for being online gamers through the medium of a post to my livejournal!!! i'm not THAT bad, damnit...and you'd better be agreeing with me 'cuz you're sitting here reading this shit, which MUST be even worse, damnit!!! yeah, anyway, HAHAHAHAHAHA NERDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

continuing on, at the end of my shift i got my scores from last month...a fucking 100% quality score!!! now THAT'S muthafuckin' badass!!! then i picked Matt up and we rocked some...we sort of worked on semi-organizing like 2 "pieces"...and fucking around a little we did 2 covers "Albatross" and "Discipline"...they were just him on drums and me on vocals/bass...that was fun...okay, i think i'm out of shit to say...if i ever remember more about those STINKING NERDS i'll hopefully remember to put it in future posts...i hope they use relay more often and get me as the operator...normally almost all non-deaf people calls annoy me to some degree, but this was just too goddamn funny...if you're trying to be funny then you're not, but if you're a SMELLY NERD then it just comes natural!!! oh yeah, and i need to fucking train Matt not to fucking drink in my car while i'm driving...jesus...(much less pack marijuana into a cigarette! sheesh...) next time i think i'll just let him bike over here again...

hahah...that's great. My ex was addicted to Evercrack, and he used to say things like, "I can't take you to your mandatory work meeting (which he had promised to drive me to, as I had no other transportation,) because I have to go to a guild meeting." It was crazy. It got to the point he wouldn't leave the house, because he always had a guild meeting or had to fight with his group.

P.S. Factoid for the day:
The lead singer of Information Society is also addicted to Everquest. It amuses me to no end to hear Everquest noises constantly in the background whenever I am at his apartment. I guess fame is no protection against Evercrack. ;)

i'm an ip-relay operator...the purpose of my job is to relay conversations for deaf people, read what they type type what the person they're talking to reads...but it's on the internet and anyone can use it...
