heavy metal thunder
Mar. 18th, 2004 07:54 pmTrans Am last night was really good...not quite as good as the last time i saw 'em, but good nonetheless...a bunch of people was there...i went with Jason and ended up seeing David, Josh, Kerry, Matt, and even the smelly guy that i was guruing the past couple of days...we missed the first opening band but we got to see the second whose name was Paris, TX...they sucked as much as their name...no, i take that back...they sucked much worse...they were cookie-cutter Rock'N'Roll, that kind that's all hip now though has always been hip in memphis 'cuz this city never gets over bland garage rock...the singer was prancing about stage trying to look all sexy and rock'n'roll...he pointed at the ceiling a lot...i laughed a lot...finally Trans Am played...as soon as they started (or maybe a little before) this stupid bitch who was completely drunk of her ass and perhaps even more drunk than that, tried to get up to the stage where i was and was trying to get me and this girl standing next to me to let her up there...she was the worst person ever...she kept flinging her head around and randomly grinding her ass around behind her...she kept bumping into me so i stuck my elbow out...and after the first song i clapped in such a way as to make my elbows bump into her 'cuz she was standing almost on top of me and kept trying to move forward...this caused her to spill her drink on the girl standing next to me...the girl yelled at the stupid bitch then kind of walked to the side so the girl got up to the front...fortunately she wandered away after the second song...i heard reports of her later on from others, such as her falling over on her ass at one point during the show...stupid people are so much funnier when they're not standing right next to you...the only thing really lame about Trans Am's performance was when they "played" "Uninvited Guest"...this was the first song of the encore...they just had the track from the cd playing...the drummer drummed along, guitarist came out wearing a rubber George W. Bush mask and sort of mimed talking along to the samples that happen in the song, and the bass player mimed the keyboard part, but the notes still changed when he clapped his hands during the applause samples in the song...but the song's short and other than that one little moment it was a really good show...i got a t-shirt and a button afterwards...woo...more guru-action at work today...so it was a good night to go to bed a little late...this time i had this new guy, he didn't stink or nothing but he was a little on the annoying side...i mean, it wasn't horrific or nothing, but uh yeah...practice should happen soon...rock or something...
