day of fear...SCARY fear!
Apr. 18th, 2003 04:07 pmi made it to sleep at a reasonable hour last night.........then i just had to wake up four fucking hours later and not be able to get back to sleep for a long fucking time...it's like my body just wants me to screw up...fucking bastard...i'll kick its ass...i finally got ready and made it out to the job interview...i almost got lost in the scary rural outskirts of Collierville after turning a street too soon...but i found my way quickly enough...it went alright, i guess...not as disasterous as i had anticipated...but not too bad...the folks were friendly enough...i didn't really talk very much...to my disadvantage i'm sure...but it's not like anything else would be expected of me...it was mostly an introduction, explaining what the company does...some questions about my lines of programming background...all the programming is with databases...i don't really have much experience in that area, though i know, code-wise, it's a lot easier than most types of programming...i'd like to become aquainted w/ it anyway, 'cuz most business type stuff revolves around that anyhow...after that i made my way home and i eventually called Megan...it looks like some plans have been made...her and some friends are going to see Irreversible...i remember reading about it a while back in
parsleypaisley's journal, i believe...their attraction is the fact that the place it's being shown has a disclaimer refusing to give refunds because it's so violent, etc...i remember reading about something along the lines of a 10 min rape scene that's near-unwatchable...and i believe her roommate used to work at the theatre and we'll be getting in free anyway...THAT'S RIGHT! i may take a nap before The Simpsons...OH...last night i also won another ebay auction (this is very important news, ya'll!) uh, another cd...Cabaret Voltaire: 2x45...i'm done now...you can all move down from the edges of your seats and resume your daily activities...

Date: 2003-04-19 01:11 pm (UTC)but it's really a movie about time so the painful, drawn out scenes really fit...(and that's what the big 2001 comparison stems from...)
aaaaaaand she took ME!

Date: 2003-04-19 09:51 pm (UTC)it'll prolly never come to my hick-ass town anyway.
and, well, if she took YOU, then maybe she's pretty cool even if she does listen to no/fx or whatever it was. (that's some pretty stinky stuff!)
i think the real test would be to tie her to the bed, make her wear earphones, and crank 'harsh 70s reality.'
if she can take that, she's a keeper.

Date: 2003-04-19 11:00 pm (UTC)i'm surprised this movie made it to Memphis...at least we have the one theater that supports the foreign/artistic stuff...it still shows standard hollywood garbage and it doesn't get everything...but it's definately a high mark in this cultural wasteland of a city...
yea...her tastes seem to lean towards that new punk/emo type shit...though she does have at least one Aphex Twin album...at least that's something...
unfortunately i do not as of yet have Harsh 70s Reality...which is a shame, i love The Dead C...i only have 3 of their albums right now...i need all of their shit...albums aside, they're one of the best fucking things i've ever seen live...
Metal Machine Music is a good classic standby though...though i'd prob'ly be best of working towards that in baby steps...start off with some Mars or something...
