drug myself out of bed at the wee hour of 1pm today so i could make it to work for the week's session of door hanging...it was pretty cool 'cuz it was the first time i'd gone where we actually didn't do ANY door hanging at all...at the very least we'll do a street or two, but today we just went to El Porton...then to Richard's house...which is kind've funny 'cuz i used to date his fiancée, who he lives w/...it wasn't even awkward as i might've suspected it to be...that was a long time ago and i just don't even care in the slightest anymore...after that i went over to Sr. David's apartment...Justin was there too...we watched The Simpsons and then SNL's Celebrity Jeopardy on the internet...we walked over to the Memphis Pizza Cafe and there has been an addition to its jukebox: it now contains none other than "SISTER RAY"!!! it has some new best of VU comp that just happens to have "Sister Ray"...all 17 and a half minutes...of course i played it...i must eat there more often now...the jukebox was already the best ever, but that's just...my god...there are very very very few songs better than that one...then Brad came over...we went to the practice space and messed around in a pseudo-The Not Disco practice...there was supposed to be a pseudo-The Family Ghost practice (-Paul 'cuz he was working, but the other three of us) but Jacques fell asleep...so that didn't happen...back to David's...sitting around watching tv...Brad left, Paul showed up, Justin left, David had been passed out for a while, then Paul left w/ me following right after...oh yea, and the guy never wrote be back confirming that we were playing the show, but as our name's in print on the back of the Flyer i guess it's official...and on a completely different note, i can never tell if i'm being too obvious...or maybe not obvious enough...bah...i suck...

fuck them if it was never confirmed. we should tell them we have made other obligations since he never contacted anyone and just invite the two or three ppl who woulda came to the practice space, where we can humiliate ourselves on our own ground.

yea, though that might diminish our chances of ever playing there again...and would definately close the door on the much-coveted Bardo Pond opening slot...and i guess it was pretty much implied that we'd have either of the shows if we could before we agreed...but still that final "okay, the 23rd it is" is pretty nice...and i don't think we'll humiliate ourselves...(the official band optimist and the last bit of lyrics i wrote has the line "it's not even worth trying"...how wacky is that?)
