ateolfwent to work again yesterday...for the first time in a while it wasn't slow as hell...so i actually made some money...oh, and before i left a certain two cd set by a certain band called A Certain Ratio was waiting for me...some of it is really good, but some of it's REALLY bad...it spans from 1978-85...i think Soul Jazz is stretching the definition of "early" a bit there...i mean, 85! NO band w/ any element of funk was still good that year...but at least almost all of the second disc is really good...it's kind've wacky though, 'cuz even some of the bad stuff still has bits of good floating around...though some of the good stuff has some bits of shit floating around as well...so...anyway...
practice happened after work...we worked on learnin' Paul "Slow Autumn"...i think it's starting to come around now...and after months of not playing it, i'm starting to get the feel for my glockenspiel part again...woo...then Jacques had to leave but us other three stayed and rocked a little while...we did "The Great War" (w/ me singing for the first time...) and then "Wash"...they both seem to be coming along pretty well as well...after that a big noise-fest...then we went and hung out at Paul's house, which i'll add for those who don't know is the coolest house ever...it's like out of some children's storybook: dog that hangs out on the roof, two pigs in the backyard, christmas lights and halloween decorations all year 'round, piles of junk...it rules...that's all...a new day is upon us...may it not suck...
