Odysseus

I got this cd in the mail: Blanket Swimming: Goodnight Jungle (a tenth anniversary reissue of their first album). At night Mary Beth and I walked over in the cold to Hattiloo to see Black Odyssey, a play that (as its name suggests) is a retelling of the Odyssey in a modern black American setting (Ulysses Lincoln, from Harlem, returning from Afghanistan...the pantheon of gods are still there doing their shenanigans). It kinda is supposed to have some audience participation (at least with the audience being vocal) though it was a cold Thursday night so it was relatively sparse (far from empty, but definitely not a full house). During intermission, we were lightly chastised for being too quiet. Anyway, the play was quite good!
