Mary Beth and I ran up to TFM in the evening for some things and also grabbed some sushi for dinner. Then after all that excitement, we went out to a show at the Lamplighter! We get there and someone called Tryptamine was playing a dj set. Generally not my thing, but some of it was alright. There was apparently some weirdness between him and others there and he never said a word, just set up and played and left as soon as he was done. It was also kinda funny 'cuz he was constantly on his phone talking with his couple of friends in the front row on some app throughout. Sometimes they'd come up and talk to him or he'd talk to them from the "stage". Anyway, after that it was Cel Shade who was awesome as always. Then Ihcilon played who was also incredible as always. Turns out that this was Paul's last show before moving away from Memphis (so that's sad for us, at least). Last it was A.N.Z.U. who are a duo with a techno/metal hybrid, not really my sort of thing but it was fun. I picked up a couple merch items from Paul: this cd comp he's on: v/a: Authenticity Volume One and a tape comp he's on v/a: Condition Report (on Thisco in a fancy wooden box packaging). Then, that's our night for last night. It was a good show if not slightly bittersweet.
