A Show

Weird day, finding out pretty early about Steve Albini dying. I know everyone does it at some point but I was not expecting that one. It took a good little bit of time after first seeing the news for my brain to process it as anything other than a prank. And there's the fact that he's someone "famous" who I probably have like three degrees of separation from, he being so involved in so many aspects of the u.s. independence music scene (though the closest to having a personal contact was when I sang obnoxious karaoke at that prfbbq and he was in the room, in the back playing poker of course). Anyway, lots of people have said stuff and I'm a little at a loss as to what else I can add.

Had a show last night at the Hi Tone. Trash Cat greeted us when we got there. It was set up as a thing through "Memphis Local" a new series or promotional thing or whatever started by this guy that Ryan knows. There were not many people there but it was a good show. Revenge Body was first and he had a really good set. Pyrrhic Vic was next, this time with his keyboard and sampler along with the guitar. And that was good! My set seemed to go alright. It was a fun time anyway.
