I was somehow handy yesterday. The kitchen garbage can (with the fancy foot pedal to open it) stopped working (the foot pedal part, it being stuck and unable to push down). I was like, maybe I can fix this. So I unscrewed stuff and took it apart. I didn't really DO anything except take it apart and put it back together but then it was working again. I think the air compression cylinder had somehow gotten messed up, like the piston thing got pushed all the way in when it should have been all the way out or whatever and so then it was kind of stuck. Anyway, like I said, it worked after taking it apart and putting it back together. So yay for being naively handy! The process was mostly easy except one of the screws for the air cylinder thingie is RIGHT behind a metal bar and it wasn't too bad taking it off, but getting the screw back in there behind the metal bar was a huge pain. Other than that, I worked on my set for the show next week a little more. Got another sound in, filling in the gap of what I thought was lacking tonally, and I think I've got all the components down. If I have time I could work some on arrangement, but so far it's coming together pretty nicely, I think and hope.
