Not too long ago I'd gotten a lead that Larry of Lastchance (RIP to my favorite record store of long ago!) now has a booth at this antique mall out in Bartlett, after Jacques posted on fb asking after him. So yesterday Mary Beth and I went out there to see if we could find it and/or him. The word was he's also sometimes hanging out up there. We didn't see him, and I have a guess as to which booth is his but not totally sure. Anyway, I wandered around looking at cds wherever they were. They were very much mostly what you'd expect to find in an antique mall, though one booth had a few things worth picking up (I will say there were a few nice surprises here and there scattered throughout but stuff I already had). Anyway at that one booth I got: Howard Shore: Crash soundtrack, AC/DC: The Razors Edge, and Teiji Ito: King Ubu (the last one being the only real, "wow I can't believe I found this at the antique mall!" find). Elsewhere I also picked up some little handheld Q*bert faux arcade machine thing. Mary Beth had picked up a dvd of Dirty Dancing and we watched it later at night. I thought I had seen it somewhat recently in the past couple decades but now pretty sure I hadn't seen it since I was a kid. Definitely wouldn't have gotten the Ayn Rand joke/dig back then!
