Yesterday I finished reading Eros the Bittersweet by Anne Carson. It was alright. It's an essay analyzing mostly ancient Greek writings to demonstrate that "eros" is "bittersweet." It links other subjects with the same analogies it uses, primarily writing/reading and knowledge. It talks about the real world and reality and the way love and passion actually transpire, but it never feels more than an abstracted concept that is found in the ancient Greek poetry. Also in the later afternoon, Mary Beth and I did a whole run of errands going out to East Memphis. I don't have much else, I don't guess!
