Yesterday afternoon I went up to the post office and sent off another t-shirt. Then I went up to Crosstown and finally finally picked up the check with the money made at Memphis Concrète! Now I can finally pay some artists! But then I had an obnoxious adventure actually depositing the check. Went to one atm and it was down, fine, went to the other nearby atm and the check was for a certain amount whose first digit was a one. Well, when I put it into the machine and it read how much it is, it registered as all the other digits but without that leading one! (You know, coming up a thousand dollars short!) Well, I'm like what the fuck and I could have entered a corrected amount but I didn't wanna fuck with that and I just wanted to get my check back and maybe deposit it directly in the bank with a human. Well, then that was annoying 'cuz it seemed like it'd hung up and was stuck (but it just didn't clearly tell me which button I needed to push to proceed). Finally got that and drove to the nearby bank (where the first atm I tried is) but they had closed a little earlier at 4 (thanks, banks!). Well, I figured I could at least try the other bank location in the other direction from our house (figured they were probably closed too but I could at least try and if they were closed I could try that atm). Well, so yeah they were closed and I went to the atm and at first it kept giving me an error right away that it was having trouble reading the check. But finally after a few attempts it took it and gave me the correct amount so all that bullshit was finally over. Oh yeah, and in the process of all this driving around I kept weirdly being surrounded by the worst fucking drivers all over the place. So it was just adding insult to injury with the whole experience. Then a little later I got an email from Goner saying my order was ready to pick up (they'd had a holiday sale and I ordered some cheap cds). Since I'd been so busy and distracted I didn't actually read the email or notice the additional email letting me know they couldn't find most of my order and just had one of the items and the rest was refunded. So I was a little confused when I got there and didn't see all I was expecting but it was fine (one of them they didn't have I was looking forward to very much and the others were just things that I didn't really know about but looked interesting enough to get for the deal). Anyway, so I did pick up Ex-Cult: s/t. Also throughout the day yesterday I worked on getting together a version of the Halloween III live score that can play along with the movie (kinda like a rifftrax thing, but our music instead of jokes). All that should be going up on bandcamp pretty soon.
