Someone to Love Tonight
Jul. 4th, 2023 09:51 amI went to the post office yesterday and resent that package that was returned to me because I forgot to put down the apartment number. Hopefully it reaches its destination this time! Then I worked on getting the Halloween III live score recording presentable. The recording had started just a little after I had started the first note. So being that it's a single note that I played, I figured I could pretty easily rerecord that note and splice it back into the recording. So I did that first, breaking the Taurus back out of its traveling case. Then I smoothed out the volume of the whole thing. There are places where we were extra quiet, to stay in the background of dialog or whatever, so I wanted to make those places not quite so weirdly quiet, also to smooth out spots where the volume jumped up or down depending on adjustments we were making since it was all done live, etc. Anyway, I think I got it a bit smoother and it sounds better to just listen to on its own! Then the next task was breaking the whole thing up into individual tracks. Ended up with fifty-two altogether. Tried as best to keep the music as logically grouped together as possible and minimizing disruptions, hopefully I did alright. Then I had to name all these tracks and I think I did a pretty good job for the most part! It's all saved as a draft up on bandcamp now and I'll probably release it after the holiday. I knew I'd have to spend some time on it, but the whole thing literally took all day so it was a lot more than I had expected!
