Yesterday afternoon Mary Beth and I got a jump on our Kroger grocery run and went a day early. After that I was working on the sound for the blu ray rip. So in theory, it should have been a simple plug and play sort of deal. I had ripped the dvd and based the volume automations on that sound. So since it's the same movie the sound file from the blu ray should just line up with the sound file from the dvd and the envelopes would just match. Well, it turns out that the different versions were at slightly different speeds (probably the fault of the cheap-ass dvd that was my original source) so the timings drifted apart considerably through the course of the movie by some number of seconds. So I had to adjust all the envelopes progressively as it went on (how often depending on how frequent and precise the volume changes were throughout). Anyway, one of those things you think will go one way until you actually get into it and then find out there's more than you'd expected!
