Sing Sing Sing

The big thing I've been wrestling with as of very lately is this program of electronic pieces by Olly Wilson for the festival. One of them involves a solo tenor vocalist. Jenny first said that that might be hard to find around here, someone who would actually perform "new music." We did find one, a professor down at Ole Miss who was very into the idea of the piece, but when he saw the score he had to decline because it's apparently extremely difficult to sing. So the difficulty of the piece is added on top of everything. It's the one I most wanted to do because it's the first piece of his I heard, but we'll see if it's even possible. I have someone else looking into it, but we'll see. We might have to find a backup. I also may have just heard that his works tend to be difficult to perform. Oof, and stuff!
