Party

Yesterday night I ended up going to this birthday party for someone I hadn't seen since high school, we were in explorer scouts together, she recently moved back to Memphis after living elsewhere. Andrea, though everyone was calling her Andie (Andy?). I went over an hour after I was told it was starting and I was still the first person there (why am I so bad at navigating all that!?). But it ended up being this other guy I kind-of know who's friends with Chris and I've met at Chris's parties Giles's shared birthday thing. And it was at his and his wife Rowan's house (and their children). So then I kind of knew someone else. It was just in the backyard and a fire pit was built. I was worried and anxious about it being super awkward but it wasn't bad. There was a guy named Elgar (I think that was it, or something like that) who was from LA and he was talking and carried the group conversation a bit. He recognized my Merzbeat shirt so that was fun. Also Ben Siler, the guy who's involved with a lot of local films, was there and he recognized me through Jacques's posts (I knew he was involved in the Lens Rentals crew film watching group with Jacques) and we talked some and he was nice. Anyway, that's about it. There was also a show that night that I had as an easy out "I've gotta go to this show" but I didn't end up using it and stayed a while. So hoorah or something.
