Lost / Anniversary
Sep. 27th, 2022 07:59 amI think my ear pressure issue was a little better as of yesterday; I think it was at least back to only being as bad as it was before I made it worse on Sunday. Still feels like pressure is very gradually being relieved. Anyway, I got in the mail Schitt$ Creek: the Complete Collection dvd set, it was from some rewards points at work that I got for my "five year" anniversary. Yesterday held a bit of excitement as I inadvertently discovered a lost show recording due to a facebook memory that came up. A memory of Mike Honeycutt posting a picture of me at that show popped up and I was curious because I didn't remember wearing the shirt I was wearing at a show and wanted to see which show it was. I looked on bandcamp at/around the date (in 2017, five years ago) but nothing was coming up (and then soundcloud as at a point I'd migrated shows that I'd initially put up over there but still nothing). So I checked back in this journal, of course, and found the show. It was the one I played with Marisol. I remember the show very clearly but didn't realize I'd never posted the recording anywhere. It was only my second solo show so I guess it was before I got into my pattern of releasing show recordings. I wanted to see if I had it around, so I grabbed one of my sd cards and found it right away on the first one. So I threw it up on bandcamp. It was a room recording so the sound isn't what I'd normally have, but it's a pretty nice and very noisy set. I was playing pretty quiet for some reason; hopefully I've improved in the realm of not being afraid of some volume over the years. (Anyway, it's shared down below). I had also recorded Marisol's set and I sent that to them yesterday as well. (I can tell I played quietly due to the huge difference in wave height between our recordings!) Then, yesterday was also a big deal 'cuz it was Mary Beth's and my anniversary! We ate some artichokes and cake and then went on a walk around the neighborhood where we saw a bunch of cats (and yes, it's getting cooler). Then we came back and ate the rest of dinner (soup). We watched Baraka. Hadn't seen it in a long time so it was nice to revisit. (Okay, then we ate more cake after that, this time with the goat whipped cream added, chocolate and goat...so good!) For my gift, Mary Beth had sent me to a website where I could order a bunch of soda I can't normally get here so I had the fun of going through their stock to see what I can get. Can't wait til it gets here and I can drink a whole bunch of soda! Okay, now here's that recording:
