Show Stuff

I had a little adventure yesterday where I dropped a soda can (unopened) and it blew up and made a big mess and I had to clean and mop the floors. In the evening I went to a show at the Lamplighter, it was a pretty early show. I was actually going to get there a little earlier (not posted start time) but ran later than intended and still didn't miss the beginning so, that was "smart" of me. But it was still relatively early. Chuck Vicious started things off and it was pretty good, kinda dancy kinda silly in parts, some good electronic sounds. W1ND0W was next and that was good, they played a bass some. Then it was whit3corset, this time she had a sampler instead of a laptop and she jumped off the pool table once. Next up was Modal Zork (touring). I was thinking I'd seen him before, and I kinda had or almost had. It was that show at the Lamp that was double-booked and the show I was there to see got pre-empted and the other show just kept taking forever and forever so I ended up bailing as it was a work night and I was getting to where it was already going to start horrendously, ridiculously late. I probably saw him sound check and set up before we had to sit around and wait an hour for the other show to even start. But yeah, he had some good synth sounds here and there but mostly it was circusy cartoon music and wasn't my thing (he was in costume too, matching the music). Last up was Duskseeker (also touring). It was one guy playing guitar and singing to a backing track. It was a metal thing. Some of it had some interesting stuff going on, but mostly it was too much weedly-weedly guitar and other metal trappings that don't get to me. Anyway, I got to bed at a decent hour so there's a plus too!
