Great Things

Started off yesterday morning by bugging Mary Beth into helping me rotate the mattress. It had been a while, but I think my back is thanking me (and, sorry it ended up being a hassle!). It turns out that yesterday, The Memphis Flyer published a fun little list thing of 370 great things about Memphis. And "Memphis Concréte Experimental Electronic Music Festival" [sic] ended up on there! There's a good bit of goofy humor, but I still felt honored to be thought of (and especially on an off-year!...I'm sure it was Alex's doing, so my heart goes out to him as always). I shared it on various platforms (well, facebook and instagram) and I managed to squeeze in my own goofy joke, "I hear we just edged out 'instant potatoes in the mail', what an honor!" I actually almost missed our mention, because the first time I read it, I got to "The promise of Brooks on the Bluff" and got mad because I'm mad about them tearing down that awesome fire station to build it (on top of just being mad in general that they're even moving out of the park at all), and I stopped reading after that. A little later in the day, though, Chris messaged me to show it so I got to see it after all. Mary Beth and I went on a walk in the later afternoon and saw some cats we hadn't seen in a while, though it was really hot (it's supposed to stop being quite so very hot today). I finished reading The Days of Abandonment by Elana Ferrante and it was really good. Then we had a deployment for work at night, that went okay. Uh, I think that's about it.
