I had to pick my mom up from dialysis yesterday afternoon. My dad last minute had to get his grandkids registered for school before they were kicked out (since my sister hadn't yet). They ended up finishing in time but I was already there to pick my mom up. I had a deployment last night but it was quick and easy.
Here are a few more forgotten random tidbits from the trip. When we ordered the frozen custard from Ted Drewes, I accidentally pronounced "concrete" as "concrète" even though I had practiced it in my head before that. During the trip I took a whole bunch of really bad photos because in the sunlight I couldn't see my screen at all (and a few places where the camera got turned around into selfie mode and I just got my dumb, sweaty face), until more than halfway through I remembered that I can actually adjust the brightness on my screen and see it in the sunlight! Hyuck! Also, I brought four books along with me to read (not thinking I'd REALLY get to all of them, but just in case since I might be spending a lot of time reading on the beach), but then I didn't even finish the book I was already reading during the trip and was almost finished with and I was SURE I'd finish that one (I got a bit of reading done, but not nearly as much as I was thinking). Then at the show in Louisville, this woman who was very drunk and talking to me, mostly being complimentary (though in that weird and drunk way) like complimenting my shoes, at one point kinda went off on me about my shirt (my Bartleby the Scrivener shirt) and saying I should be ashamed and when I asked why saying "Bartleby the Scrivener!" but never elucidating further. Well, definitely no shame from me for having the most awesome shirt ever!
