There was a modular meetup group yesterday and I went to it. It was up at the Memphis Listening Lab (in the Crosstown Concourse). I didn't bring any stuff, just wanted to scope it out and see the score the first time (the Concourse isn't the easiest building to navigate lugging a bunch of stuff). But I met some people and a few friends showed up as well: Josh, Dustin, and Paul Vinsonhaler. So this group is an extension of an Ableton meetup group and the guy behind that was in the group with Ricky back in the day and took over as the licensed trainer or whatever they call it and was in that Ableton/modular group of Ricky's back in the day, so it kinda turns out that this group is sort-of weirdly an extension of that (though Matt, this guy I'm talking about that's his name see, is moving away to Boston at the end of the month). Anyway, some people had stuff set up on tables and there was some fiddling around with it. There were quite a few new-to-modular people that showed up. A few music types that were interested in it and checking things out. There was also like a good crowd of people that just seemed curious in general that were sitting on the couches and watching (with quite a few kids!). Anyway, it was fun. After I got home Mary Beth and I went over to the Park to walk around in the Old Forest. Later at night we watched some Simpsons. Early this morning a neighbor's fucking car was doing the car alarm going off thing. It happened twice. I was able to fall back asleep after the first time but not the second time so I'm wishing I had more sleep!
