Intermittent
Feb. 4th, 2022 08:10 amWe were definitely lucky throughout the day yesterday. So many people I knew lost their power. I read the close to one-third of the city was without power. Limbs had come down everywhere smashing stuff. We had a tree in the front yard uprooted (though no damage to anything). There was a set of three evergreens planed in a little row in the west side of the front yard. Really, they were planed too close together so when they grew up they were practically conjoined and the one on the north end definitely got the sweeter deal as they were all got consecutively smaller moving away from the front to the back. It was the smallest one that fell and was uprooted. So I guess now it's two trees there. Mary Beth did some furniture rearranging. She switched out the lounge chair that's been sequestered in the library (though Trudy often uses it during the day to get her sun sleeping) with the piece of furniture that's somewhere in between a chair and a couch (though I wouldn't call it a love seat either) that's pretty uncomfortable and always hurts our backs. Now it's in the library where it has room to be folded out into a bed if needed and we can use the lay-z-boy to watch tv and stuff. I think our backs will be happier. When pulling out the tray to convert it into a bed to test it out again, it had trouble going back in. One of the supporting boards had warped terribly and broke its fastener and being all warped couldn't be put back in right again. Due to space constrictions, it had been sitting atop the vent in the living room and I'm pretty sure that's what warped it (it's pretty cheap ikea wood to boot). At least now the chair that's there is small enough not to have to cover the vent, which is a plus on its own. I barely got any duolingo done yesterday as after work the internet started getting really spotty. I got a couple lessons done (and then one that got lost 'cuz I did it and then the internet went out after I'd started so it didn't update when I finished). It was both the house and phone connections kept going out. They seem to be back today (at least the house, the phone seemed troublesome this morning, but I just switched it back to wifi which is where it usually is as long as the wifi connection is working). I had a deployment and at the time couldn't connect on computer so I just joined in on phone (which even still, like I said, was hit and miss getting that connection, but it worked, or at least I was only a couple minutes late). My tiny little application web page that I built from scratch is up and out in production now. That's kinda cool.
