Yesterday was Christmas and just spent the day with Mary Beth. We had a facetime with her parents and later and call with mine. I got some nice flannel pyjamas with the same space imagery as our new sheets (though these have a dark background vs their light background, they also don't glow in the dark but maybe that's for the best on something that I'm wearing on me). I also got a lovely cashmere scarf. We got an ipad mini from Mary Beth's parents, she's wanting me to have it since she already has an ipad. I set it up a little last night. I don't like how locked down mobile ios is, but I'm sure I can find some use for it. So, the thing I'd gotten for Mary Beth was a denim jacket with "FOX" on the back in rhinestones (the jacket from Fassbinder's Fox and His Friends). I put on the rhinestones last weekend (they were kind of a pain, they're heat-applied and I used this old clothes iron we have and mostly they went on fine but there were a few spots that just wouldn't take and the stones would fall off them, even different stones always the same positions, but finally got them on). They seemed to have lasted the wait, but after I gave it to her a few fell off. I went ahead and ordered a small iron that's made specifically for this so hopefully that'll do a better job of fastening on individual stones. I'll make it work. We went on a walk in the afternoon. The weather did that thing it always seems to do here where, after weeks of being cold, it gets weirdly warm just in time for Christmas. So I just had on my t-shirt for the walk, no jacket or anything. At night we continued a tradition and watched Christmas in Connecticut. I ate a Christmas pudding. So there's our holiday. I woke up to texts from my dad this morning. They woke up to my mom having trouble breathing so he took her to the hospital and she's having tests and stuff now. We'll hear more soon, I guess.
