The Christmas present from my parents arrived yesterday. It was some wooden dining chairs from Ikea (that's where I went with my dad last week to pick them out). We got a set of four. They're simple, solid, and gray. Mary Beth seems as pleased with them as I am. I had the "pleasure" of assembling them (or half of them anyway, enough to replace the ones we were previously using at the table with backs slowly giving way). The steps of assembling them is easy enough, but where the legs screw in is inside these little alcoves so you have to use the angled allen wrench and there's enough room to just make these tiny quarter-turns so it's pretty tedious and takes forever to tighten it up. But we have enough to use. We spent most of the night again watching Seinfeld and eating chocolate cake. (I neglected to mention in my last post that the night before we played a few games of Splendor!) Then at night I finished reading Exemplary Stories by Miguel de Cervantes and it was pretty good. I woke up way too early today for a Saturday, but whatever.
