Shows and Such

I realized yesterday that there was more of Sravanth's wedding that we hadn't watched, the video would cut out for long times between sections (it was already past bedtime when we'd stopped anyway and there were a few more hour to go so was fine anyway). So we watched the rest after work yesterday afternoon. I'd meant to say how I immediate could tell his dad was his dad, having the whole looking just like an older-version-of thing going on (and the same moustache Sravanth used to have). I got excited yesterday because there's this Tatsuya Nakatani show coming up this weekend and it was going to be at the Lamplighter and I so wanted to go but I was pretty nervous about how the delta variant is spreading. Anyway, it got moved to an outdoor venue so I'm much happier about being able to go. It will be the first show since covid started. We'll see how it goes. I was supposed to play that festival in Jackson again next month, but it got cancelled yesterday. I think there was another more personal reason in addition to the delta variant, but I'm not sure what it is. All for the best I'm sure. In the late evening yesterday I went and grabbed us some cake from the store and we ate watching The Kids in the Hall. I'd meant to mention last week, but my manager got promoted to director. He's still filling the role of manager until he gets a replacement lined up. It was funny 'cuz literally the day before Mary Beth had asked if I thought he'd always be my manager, sensing his career-ambition drive and I pretty much told her as much. So it wasn't a surprise or anything (though literally a day later was probably sooner than I was expecting!).
