Current Aftermath

A pipe burst yesterday. It was the one going into our small bathroom. I was able to get down into the basement and turn off the pipe going to it. So we still have water throughout the rest of our house. Unfortunately for our neighbors, it's also the pipe that carries hot water upstairs. But that's also mitigated because around the time all this went down, MLG&W issued a boil water notice for all of Shelby County due to the low pressure in the system caused by burst mains. So we now have to boil all tap water before consuming. When I went to shut it off, it took me a little while because, of course, it was the valve that didn't want to turn at all at first. I tried all the others and they didn't stop it. I even tried to call MLG&W's emergency line but that didn't even ring. I finally kept trying the one valve I hadn't been able to turn and eventually got it and the leak with it. So yeah, snow still abounds everywhere and it's cool to look at but...all this isn't fun. Had the deployment last night that we'd skipped the day before. I wasted a bunch of time last night trying to do something for the server and the show tomorrow but wasn't able. I have a plan b...
