Completions
Dec. 7th, 2020 08:07 amYesterday was a big day for finishing things. First, I finished reading Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy. I did not thing it was good. I mean, first off it's very long, not that it's a difficult read (and not for the sake of its length as some of my favorite books are notoriously long). It actually reads very easily though it's something like sitting in a soft breeze (a soft breeze that just keeps going and going). And due to the lightness of its read, I wouldn't quite say that it's dull or boring...but something very akin or adjacent to that (flat, in a way, I guess). But the killer is at the end when it gets to its moral or lesson or takeaway or whatever and it's some really terribly, hand-wavey, anti-intellectual garbage. Then later in the day I finished my trailhead! All that's left to do are the practice-for-the-test modules (estimated time on those is two hours, but we'll see) then it's just take the test! Maybe I'll need to study some more between as I did about half of the trailheads a full year ago and probably need brushing up on a bunch of stuff (though I at least got some brushing on up on some things in the last half I recently did). When I was done I watched about the last half or so of I Am Big Bird with Mary Beth (she had started it while I was working on the trailheads) and we celebrated with root beer floats. It was a lovely celebration. Now it's back to work!
