One thing is that I got this cd in the mail yesterday: The Corrupting Sea: Tears. One other thing is that Mary Beth and I watched Pola X last night. I mean, I've had its soundtrack for forever. Hadn't realized before that it's an adaptation of Pierre; or, the Ambiguities ("pola" is even an acronym of the French translation of the title). It was really good, and I'm glad it took me at least long enough to live a life where I've happened to have read the book first. Definitely adds another layer having a conversation with the original text and being able to compare/contrast (at least as much as I'm able to remember of the book, watching it also brought back a good bit of it). And it was surprisingly faithful to the book, I mean, obviously not "perfect" especially given that it's transplanted into modern times (and the incest part being much, much more (plus literally) explicit), but it follows the plot pretty closely and adheres to the feel of the book, the very weird feel of the book.
I guess I haven't commented much on the outside world here since everything's been going on in the past week. And here we have a goddamn mayor who can't be arsed to keep up any decent covid restrictions but puts a goddamn curfew at the drop of a hat after protests. I mean, I'm not doing anything and I'm not out there, but bless the protesters everywhere.
