Hell

Yesterday morning Mary Beth and I had to make a run to the post office because they wouldn't leave a package at the door. So there was a little daytime adventure. Later I got a few packages in the mail. I got a cd: Alan Sparkhawk: Solo Guitar. Bandcamp did their taking no cut of the money thing again on Friday and this time I took advantage, so there should be a few cds tricking in the mail over the coming days, this was the first one to arrive. I also got a package from Criterion. Watching those Hollis Frampton movies made finally buckle down to replace that set since the first disc is cracked, so I got on blu ray: A Hollis Frampton Odyssey and The Cremator. Later in the day I finished reading Briefing for a Descent into Hell by Doris Lessing. Mary Beth had wanted me to read it after reading the António Lobo Antunes as they both somewhat share similar themes about psychiatry (and they both have "Hell" in the title, that was just a bonus coincidence) and it was a little further down in my to-read pile anyway. The Lessing was really good, a lot to unpack there. It's like a puzzle with disparate fragments just thrown down, but a thread that feels like it can be connected throughout. Mary Beth and I talked for a good while about it yesterday afternoon. Later at night we watched some more Steven Universe. Now it's back to another day at work!
