The work-from-home policy became absolutely official yesterday. "If you can work from home, please work from home." My team was there anyway, but now it is writ. They also gave us permission to take anything from the office we might need home with us as long as we let our managers know what we took. So I went up yesterday afternoon and grabbed my monitors (along with smaller stuff like mouse, keyboard, docking station). I wanted to get some stands for the monitors but I couldn't find any. So I took the arms that are mounted to my desk. I thought it'd be hard to find a place to affix them to, but I ended up clearing off the old little work desk Mary Beth had but hasn't used in forever and it's been perfect. I set all that up yesterday evening, cleaned out a little in the "office" room and I've got a very good setup right now, if I don't say so myself. Working's so much easier when you have actual screens and not just one little laptop screen. So, made good progress yesterday and I've shaved off a ton of time on the jobs with my new approach. Hopefully I'll get all the jobs finished today. But yeah, feeling good about it. Last night Mary Beth and I watched A Constant Forge, the John Cassavetes documentary. Now I'm working at home and it's almost like I'm in the office. Nice.
