ateolf: (the goat...BITCH!)
So I did end up sleeping for a few hours yesterday afternoon. I just passed out and I did feel better afterwards. Slept most of the time before the show. So while I didn't feel so sick, I was a little fuzzy in that just napped sort of way. But it was good. So I got up the P&H. It was a late show but the turnout wasn't too bad. Lavellian Objects was first. It was their first show, Grayson and John who I've met at some of the Memphis Concrète events. They each had modulars and a big little setup. It was more beat-driven but good stuff, some ambient drones in there as well. Bruiser was up next and it was one of Zach's best sets, I think! He was really good as usual. There were a good number of people talking throughout his ambient set and Zachary (that's Nonconnah Zachary, not Bruiser Zach) got angry and started yelling at the people for talking so it just made it awkward. Then I guess it "worked" 'cuz all the talkers had just left by the time the next act started. Hypnagogue is on tour. He had a really nice mix of guitar, pedals, and tape, very ambient and atmospheric and expansive. Last up was Nonconnah. Zachary put on a really good set. Lot of people I know were there so there was some nice hanging out and stuff. I picked up a couple of Hypnagogue's tapes. Well, things ran on time and I got home late but it wasn't as late as it could have been. I was expecting to feel super tired today but I think the extra sleep I got beforehand made it not too bad. Something I should mention about work. So we're having these meetings testing out this certain bit of work we did and for the test data we were using we grabbed a person with the name "Bob Loblaw" so that made me pretty happy. Don't think anyone else in the meeting caught the Arrested Development reference.
