I went to see Mdou Moctar play at the CMPLX last night. Saw a few people I know like Jacques and Gavin and I was introduced to one of the guitar players in Tire and he was refreshingly awkward like me. The show was really good. Mdou does a bit of shredding but it's kinda Frippian. Pretty awesome we got to get that here coming all the way from Niger! I picked up his cd Mdou Moctar: Ilana: the Creator. It wasn't a late show or anything. Back home to sleep, back to work. There you go.
