Toot Da Flute
Feb. 4th, 2019 05:31 pmYesterday afternoon, Mary Beth and I had some lunch out on the deck enjoying the weirdly warm springtime weather. Then we took a walk to the park (unsurprisingly lots of other people had the idea to enjoy the park as well). Then while everyone else was busy watching their favorite team bat the ball around the court, we went up to the university to see this baroque flute concert. It was Barthold Kuijken (apparently a big name in those sorts of circles, but I'm not deeply knowledgeable on classical music or performers) playing solo baroque pieces for baroque flute (as in the instrument as it was back in the day, not the modern flute, it's a wooden thing, though he had two types). It was enjoyable and almost as opposite a commercialized sports thing as I could imagine so it was a nice night. Then work today and it was fine and now I'm home and such.
