Last of It

ateolf: (the goat...BITCH!)
I vacuumed the water out of my car yesterday and hooked the battery back up. It hasn't gone crazy with the honk alarm any, but it also got warm today. It also rained again last night so the back floorboard is back to being wet, but it got dry for at least part of a day (and I guess there'd be even more water in it right now had I not vacuumed it, I mean, it's gotta get done sometime). I went to a house show yesterday, Linda Heck playing with this guy from Nashville on bass. They played a couple sets of her songs, and later a couple more ambient sets. She'd asked me to maybe bring something so I brought my SK-1 and sat in for a little ten or fifteen minute (or maybe less? I dunno) jam with 'em where I did my usual thing with it of sampling my voice for a loop (getting something that sounds somewhere between a mellotron and a scratchy record...Linda offered it sounding like the vocal tape loop in "I'm Not in Love" which I can add to the list as well). It was a fun time. It was at the house of the guy who had the after party with Wolf Eyes. On second visit, it didn't seem quite as crazy, richly huge as it did the first time (that was also all at night, yesterday I at least arrived during daylight). I mean, it's a big house and all and pretty nicely furnished, etc. Being directly across the street from a veritable mansion might also create some impressions by proxy. But still that impression came from some basis because it is a pretty big and nice house and all. Few friends were there (though all of 'em had left by the time I sat in on Casio): Jacques, Amy, Chris, Megan, Nate. Martin, this guy from St. Louis who was at the festival one day this year and recorded a bunch of sets, was in town with his wife and they were there for this. So it was cool to see and talk to him in person and all. Anyway, people I didn't know seemed pretty into our little jam and even the Casio in particular, so uh nice yeah. Work today was unsurprisingly still very dead. Probably the deadest discounting last Monday. I came home to a couple of packages: (the cashing in of the promissory note for utilities from Mary Beth:) a 2hp Rnd and three stackable cables and (more fruits of the Amazon card from her parents:) Richard H Kirk: #7489 (sweet box set I'm looking forward to mightily).
