Mary Beth and I went up to a panel discussion at Crosstown Arts last night led by Indie Memphis and Memphis Women in Film. It was with a writer/critic/academic who has a book coming out about the "dead girl" trope and the discussion focused around that. I saw there, I feel an urge to say "former student" but that's not accurate, Chassidy: she was a friend of a student who sometimes hung out in a little group in my classroom during lunch. Now she's about to graduate from Rhodes and studied history but is going into film and made a documentary about the Memphis massacre of 1866 that Indie Memphis rejected last year but she's hoping to get in this year. Anyway, that was kinda neat to see her again. Today was work and trying to finally test something that had been blocked from testing for forever to find out that the model I had based my code around was changed and that was annoying having to rechange it. Other than that, not a whole lot.
