So yesterday was a nice work from home day. The snow really picked up in the morning. I sat at the living room table with the window open while I worked to enjoy the nice flurries outside. Work-wise, I was getting into some serv-a work and discovering, after not having worked on it in a while, that it's not working at all on my local machine anymore. So bit of a point of frustration there. In the afternoon, Mary Beth and I braved out into the world to go get our grocery shopping out of the way. It wasn't too bad at Kroger. The parking lot was pretty bad (for someone not wearing boots) with the ice and slush and cold water. But the store wasn't too crowded and we managed to mostly find what was on our list. We just knew it was supposed to get colder today and the streets would be refrozen as well as it being Saturday and the second day so people may be more willing to go out. Fresh Marked had just closed early when we got there so we skipped it. Later in the evening we caught up on Crazy Ex Girlfriend. At night I finished reading The Neon Bible by John Kennedy Toole. It was a good read, quick too. It has a simple, understated style. You definitely wouldn't be able to tell it was written by a fifteen year-old, not just in its accomplishment but with its subtle, observational style. Anyway, now it's the morning and it's snowing again! It's a light, but the flakes are nice and big and giving everything a nice white touch-up. Definitely feeling good about having gotten shopping out of the way yesterday.
