My parents came and picked Mary Beth and I up for lunch yesterday. We went and met a few relatives at Cracker Barrel in West Memphis. It was kinda weird 'cuz my dad was very vague about the reasons for going to frickin' West Memphis for lunch. The reason makes a lot of sense, meeting relatives who live in Arkansas, but it was goofy how he didn't just out and say that first thing. My mom and Anthony were along for the ride as well. We met Uncle Tom and Aunt Becky and Uncle Jim. And everyone got free black eyed peas 'cuz of new year's. Later in the day. Oh what did we do? We eventually went and saw Jo Jo for our last time as her parents are coming back right about nowabouts. It's been a good time hanging out with this little big cat. Not a whole lot else for our new year's day. Ate hoppin' john for dinner. Back to work today. Not a whole lot to report thereabouts. This cold can suck it. Some of our pipes are frozen. Can't do laundry. My car doesn't seem to lie the cold very much. My transmission acted up on the way home. Accelerating even more slowly than usual. But I got gas and after restarting the car it was working normally again. I think it must have hitched up or something. On better non-cold-related news, I got some mail with some box sets and stuff (blowing some christmas money, yeah): Harry Bertoia: Sonambient, Henry Cow: The Road: Volumes 1-5, and Tony Conrad: Ten Years Alive on the Infinite Plain.
