I finally did it! I took my bike over to Overton Park and I rode around for between an hour and a half and two hours or so. It was a lot of fun. It's a good thing the adage about never forgetting is true. I haven't really ridden a bike since I was a kid. I don't even remember what age, probably pre- high school. I mostly went around the paved roads around the trails back and forth. At one point I took the bigger trail down. I noticed more trails that we never walk down going down different sections of the roads, maybe that's a to-do note for future walks. After that I was pretty sore and tired and lay down for a while. In the afternoon Mary Beth and I walked up to Hattiloo to see a play called Fetch Clay, Make Man about Muhammad Ali meeting Stepin Fetchit. I thought the events were fictionalized but it's based on a true thing. Didn't really know Stepin Fetchit by name, it offered a pretty interesting take on his position in black history/film history. The acting was good. Later at night we finished watching Good Girls Revolt (too bad it got cancelled after the first season, I mean, it ended in a good place for being cancelled, but still would have been nice if there could have been more). Also ate that benton bacon ice cream; it was of course good, but I didn't feel it wowed me as much as the name's potential suggested. Well, then I went to work today and was pretty productive. Was supposed to do a deployment late tonight but that's not happening (though it may in a few days). Hm.
