Last night I finished reading Call Me Burroughs: a Life by Barry Miles. It was quite good. It was exceptionally well-researched and detailed. This was mostly to its benefit (though sometimes it was a little tedious and sometimes it felt a bit like a sequence of facts merely strung together, and the very beginning gave way too many details describing the house he was born in...but mostly it was really good). Work today was a bit surreal. Today is Servicemaster's day of service where real employees (not us contractors) sign up in different groups doing volunteer work with different charities. Well, one was right here in the office. There was a Make a Wish group and this girl was coming and they were doing the whole office in a Zootopia theme with all this decoration on each floor and some people were given animal masks. I think there was a setup like she was solving a riddle and getting some clues going around the place, I didn't catch too much about that. So we were all gathered to greet her when she came to our floor. I think the mayor was there too and stuff. I hope she liked it, but like I said it was a bit surreal. While waiting and afterwards I talked a bunch to Zach about synths and music and that was pretty cool. He gave me his number and I took it down wrong, doh. Also Mempops was there giving away free popsicles (well, I'm sure Servicemaster paid for 'em but they were free to us, and very good).
