War of Attrition

I went over to Spencer's today for an atypical "anime and junk food" day. This time it had nothing to do with anime and everything to do with board games! And we had it at a location other than the workplace because some of those playing felt board games and drinking alcohol to be inseparable activities. There were a good number of people there. We played a few games. First it was Lords of Vegas and that was a pretty awesome game. I won too, so yeah. I stepped out for the next game to let people who came later and didn't get to play the first game in. The next game was some dc comics card game so I wasn't super-drawn to it anyway. Did play some smash bros stuff and embarrassed myself with my total incomprehension. We finished with a quick game of Super Munchkin...okay a five fucking hour game of Super Munchkin. It just kept going and wouldn't end. I ended up being there hours longer than I'd intended. By the end everyone had 9 (out of 10) points and it just ended up being whoever was the first to get a battle after everyone had depleted all their resources. It was kinda fun, definitely at first, good stories being told, but there's a beauty to games that come with a built-in fucking time limit or just anything that keeps a game from going on forever. Well, now I'm home late. Okay. Edit: I initially said I was listening to Super Roots 5, but it turns out it was Super Roots 8. The discs were switched and in the wrong case. Good thing I bought both together and was still able to get the right discs!
